S: Devils River At Cauthorn Ranch Near Juno affecting Val Verde County. Devils River At Bakers Crossing 19N Of Comstock affecting Val Verde County.
What: Minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Devils River at Cauthorn Ranch Near Juno.
When: Until late tonight.
Impacts: At 6.0 feet, (1.8 meters), Water begins to run over the road at many Hwy 163 low crossings. At 7.0 feet, (2.1 meters), Low water crossings on the Devils River become impassable, and motorists will have a risk of becoming stranded between crossings. At 8.0 feet, (2.4 meters), Several low crossings on Highway 163 on the Devils River are flooded, and motorists may become stranded between crossings for several hours.
Additional Details: - At 5:15 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 6.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage this morning to a crest of 8.1 feet late this morning. Impacts: At 6.0 feet, (1.8 meters), Minor lowland flooding extends into low areas of the flood plain with no significant impact.
Additional Details: - At 5:15 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 3.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 4.0 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage late this morning to a crest of 6.7 feet this afternoon. What: Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Northwestern Val Verde County in south central Texa

When: Until noon CDT Thursday.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry creeks. River or stream flows are elevated.
Additional Details: - At 438 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainage
S: Devils River, Howard Draw, Johnson Draw, Big Fielder Draw, Pecos River, Eagle Nest Creek and Devils Draw. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Pandale and Pumpville. - Some of the larger streams, including the Pecos River will be taking on water from well upstream in areas just outside of Val Verde County. This means that the stream bed may not become flooded until after daybreak. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
