Description

The National Weather Service in Midland/Odessa has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Central Scurry County in western Texa
S: Until 445 AM CDT. At 1141 PM CDT, Emergency management reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area had caused road closures in portions of Scurry County. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing.
Hazard: Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.
Source: Emergency management reported.
Impact: Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Snyder.

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
