The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Central Grayson County in north central Texa
S: Until 845 PM CDT. At 618 PM CDT, emergency management reported multiple flooded roads and vehicles stuck in flood water in and around the Denison area. Flash flooding is already occurring in this area. Additional instances of flash flooding is imminent or occurring in the Sherman to Southmayd areas as well.
Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Sherman, Denison, Pottsboro, Knollwood, Randell Lake, Eisenhower State Park, Southmayd, Boddie and Carpenters Bluff.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas, particruarly in the Sherman and Denison areas. Expect water over roadways and ponding of water in urban or other areas.
Additional Details: - At 534 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Sherman, Denison, Pottsboro, Knollwood, Dorchester, Randell Lake, Eisenhower State Park, Lake Texoma, Preston, Southmayd, Boddie, Luella, Ida and Carpenters Bluff.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning
At 645 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Hendrix to Sherman to Howe, and are nearly stationary.
Hazard: 60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

Impact: Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Sherman, Denison, Van Alstyne, Howe, Bells, Tom Bean, Savoy, Knollwood, Dorchester, Valley Lake, Boddie, Ida, Carpenters Bluff, Ambrose, Sowells Bluff, Luella, White Mound, Farmington, and Cannon.
For your protection stay inside a sturdy structure and keep away from windows. Heavy rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
