Description

The National Weather Service in Lubbock has extended the Flash Flood Warning for West Central Garza County in northwestern Texa
S: Northeastern Lynn County in northwestern Texa
S: Until 400 AM CDT. At 215 AM CDT, emergency management reported continuing flash flooding across the warned area, with water over the roadway in multiple locations along US-380. Up to 4.5 inches of rain have fallen. The heaviest rain has ended, but flash flooding is already occurring and will continue over the next few hours.
Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Wilson.

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
