Description

The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Northern Frio County in south central Texa
S: Southern Medina County in south central Texa
S: Southeastern Uvalde County in south central Texa
S: Northeastern Zavala County in south central Texa
S: Until 1100 AM CDT. At 705 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Hazard: Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.

Impact: Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Devine, Moore, Yancey, Biry, Knippa and Bigfoot.

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
