Recommended Action
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Description

At 1209 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Knoxville, moving east at 35 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include Knoxville, Sevierville, Alcoa, Jefferson City, Dandridge, Pigeon Forge, Rockford, Kimberlin Heights, McMahan, and Lake Forest.

Recommended Action

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
