Description
The National Weather Service in Aberdeen has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 10 AM to 7 PM CDT Saturday.
Affected Area: In South Dakota, Faulk, Spink, Hyde, Hand, Lyman and Buffalo.
Winds: Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. The strongest winds will be in the morning.
Relative Humidity: As low as 17 percent.
Impacts: Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become difficult to control or suppress.
Recommended Action
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
