Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of central South Carolina, including the following counties, Calhoun, Lexington and Orangeburg.
When: Until 1100 PM EDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. Ponding of water on roadways is occurring or is imminent.
Additional Details: - At 755 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include North, Neeses, Norway, Woodford and Livingston. - This includes Interstate 26 between mile markers 127 and 135. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don't drown. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
