Flood Advisory
What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
Where: Central Chesterfield County in central South Carolina
When: Until 200 AM EDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 120 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 7 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Mainly rural areas of Central Chesterfield County. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don't drown. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Report any flooding directly to the Columbia National Weather Service when it is safe to do so.
