Extreme Heat Warning
What: Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of 95 to 105 possible. High temperatures will range from around 92 to 102 Saturday, 97 to 107 on Sunday, and 95 to 105 on Monday.
Where: All of western and central North Dakota including the James River Valley.
When: From 1 PM CDT /noon MDT/ Saturday to 1 AM CDT /midnight MDT/ Tuesday.
Impacts: Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.
Additional Details: Overnight low temperatures will only drop into the low to mid 70s, providing little relief from the heat.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
