Description

At 1247 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8 miles north of Brevard, or 5 miles northwest of Etowah, moving north at 15 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include Downtown Asheville, Brevard, East Asheville, West Asheville, Mills River, Canton, Etowah, Biltmore Forest, Bent Creek, and B.R. Parkway-Mount Pisgah To The Nc Arboretum.

Recommended Action

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
