SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 488 REMAINS VALID UNTIL 1 AM MDT WEDNESDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN MONTANA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 3 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL MONTANA MUSSELSHELL IN SOUTHEAST MONTANA ROSEBUD TREASURE THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ASHLAND, COLSTRIP, FORSYTH, HYSHAM, LAME DEER, AND ROUNDUP.

Description

At 1044 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 37 miles north of Hysham to near Hardin, moving east at 20 mph.
Hazard: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Hysham, Custer, Melstone, Ballantine, Worden, Huntley, Shepherd, Musselshell, Bighorn, Ingomar and Pompeys Pillar. An additional storm between Lockwood and Hardin is moving northward across I-90.

Recommended Action

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds and large hail. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
