Flash Flood Warning
The National Weather Service in Jackson has extended the Flash Flood Warning for Southern Catahoula Parish in northeastern Louisiana Concordia Parish in northeastern Louisiana South Central Tensas Parish in northeastern Louisiana Adams County in southwestern Mississippi Southwestern Claiborne County in southwestern Mississippi Western Franklin County in southwestern Mississippi Jefferson County in southwestern Mississippi Until 245 PM CDT. At 1239 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Natchez, Vidalia, Ferriday, Jonesville, Fayette, Alcorn State, Clayton, Ridgecrest, Waterproof, Roxie, Monterey, Spokane, Sibley, Stanton, Kingston, Cranfield, Deer Park, Church Hill, Frogmore and Stampley.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
