Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Portions of southeast Kansas, including the following county, Bourbon and west central Missouri, including the following counties, St. Clair and Vernon.
When: Until 700 AM CDT Thursday.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 1257 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following low water crossing
S: West Fork Pryor Creek at Blair Road, Monegaw Creek at NW 1301 Road, Clear Creek at 430 Road and Ricky Creek at NW 603 Road. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Nevada, Appleton City, Bronson, Walker, Schell City, Fulton, Richards, Mapleton, Metz, Harwood, Stotesbury, Horton, Hammond, Harding, Devon, Taberville, Johnson City and Xenia. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
