Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
Where: Southeastern Clay County in west central Missouri Lafayette County in west central Missouri Southern Ray County in west central Missouri
When: Until 830 AM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 610 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.8 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Excelsior Springs, Richmond, Odessa, Higginsville, Lexington, Concordia, Waverly, Orrick, Wellington, Hardin, Corder, Alma, Henrietta, Crystal Lakes, Mayview, Woods Heights and Lake Lafayette. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
