Description

The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Missouri Big Creek at Blairstown affecting Henry, Johnson and Cass Counties. South Grand River at Urich affecting Henry, Bates and Cass Counties.
What: Moderate flooding is forecast.
Where: South Grand River at Urich.
When: From late tonight to Thursday evening.
Impacts: At 24.0 feet, Flooding occurs across locations within 0.5 to 1.5 miles of the river. Areas affected include low lying pastures along with cropland and secondary roads. At 28.0 feet, K Highway is under water approximately 1 mile south of Urich. Many other roads along the river are flooded as well.
Additional Details: - At 8:15 AM CDT Monday the stage was 3.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 22.0 feet. - ForecastThe river will rise above flood stage late tonight to 26.6 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall early Wednesday afternoon. It will rise to 24.7 feet Wednesday evening. It will then fall below flood stage late Wednesday evening. - Flood stage is 24.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Description

What: Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Bates County in west central Missouri Southeastern Cass County in west central Missouri Western Henry County in west central Missouri
When: Until 1245 PM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 945 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Butler, Adrian, Rich Hill, Urich, Montrose, Creighton, Hume, Amoret, Rockville, Foster, Passaic, Ballard, Hartwell, La Due and Worland. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
