Flood Advisory
What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
Where: A portion of southwest Missouri, including the following counties, Greene and Webster.
When: Until midnight CDT tonight.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 951 PM CDT, Runoff from heavy rain due to thunderstorms will continue late this evening. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following low water crossing
S: Givins Branch at Highway W, Wilson Creek at Farm Road 146, Panther Creek at Highway B, Wilson Creek at Farm Road 156, Pomme De Terre River at Greenwood Road, Wilson's Creek at Farm Road 150 and Niangua River at Highway Y. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Springfield, Marshfield, Strafford, Willard, Fair Grove, Niangua, Brookline, Bassville, Northview, Elkland and Glidewell. - Water levels will are increasing along the James River. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood deaths occur in vehicles.
