Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Wind damage with this storm will occur before any rain or lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover. Seek shelter immediately inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 611 IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN LOUISIANA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 10 PARISHES IN NORTH CENTRAL LOUISIANA CALDWELL GRANT JACKSON LA SALLE WINN IN NORTHWEST LOUISIANA BIENVILLE DE SOTO NATCHITOCHES RED RIVER SABINE IN TEXAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 7 COUNTIES IN NORTHEAST TEXAS ANGELINA NACOGDOCHES PANOLA RUSK SABINE SAN AUGUSTINE SHELBY THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ARCADIA, CARTHAGE, CENTER, CLARKS, COLFAX, COLUMBIA, COUSHATTA, DRY PRONG, GIBSLAND, GRAYSON, HEMPHILL, HENDERSON, JENA, JONESBORO, LOGANSPORT, LUFKIN, MANSFIELD, MANY, MARTIN, MIDWAY, MONTGOMERY, NACOGDOCHES, NATCHITOCHES, OLLA, PINELAND, PLEASANT HILL, RINGGOLD, SAN AUGUSTINE, STONEWALL, WINNFIELD, AND ZWOLLE.
