What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: East Baton Rouge Parish in southeastern Louisiana Southern East Feliciana Parish in southeastern Louisiana Northeastern Iberville Parish in southeastern Louisiana Northwestern Livingston Parish in southeastern Louisiana Southeastern Pointe Coupee Parish in southeastern Louisiana West Baton Rouge Parish in southeastern Louisiana Southeastern West Feliciana Parish in southeastern Louisiana
When: Until 630 AM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
Additional Details: - At 423 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Baton Rouge, Zachary, Baker, Denham Springs, Plaquemine, Port Allen, New Roads, Oak Hills Place, St. Gabriel, Walker, Addis, Brusly, Slaughter, Rosedale, Grosse Tete, Brownfields and Merrydale. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
