Description

What: Air temperatures 105-110.
Where: Portions of central, south central, southwest, and west central Kansas.
When: From noon CDT /11 AM MDT/ today to 8 PM CDT /7 PM MDT/ this evening.
Impacts: Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.
Additional Details: This is a prolonged period of near to record breaking heat for the area, so multiple days of heat preparedness and precautions should be taken. Additional heat headlines will be evaluated day to day.

Recommended Action

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
