The National Weather Service in Topeka has extended the Flash Flood Warning for Southern Dickinson County in central Kansa
S: Southern Geary County in east central Kansa
S: Northern Morris County in east central Kansa
S: Southwestern Wabaunsee County in east central Kansa
S: Until 700 AM CDT. At 358 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2.5 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Junction City, Herington, Alma, Chapman, White City, Alta Vista, Hope, Dwight, Woodbine, Parkerville, Carlton, Latimer and Volland. This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 287 and 288and between mile markers 323 and 328.

S: Lyon Creek near Junction City affecting Geary County. Smoky Hill River near Junction City affecting Geary County.
What: Minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Lyon Creek near Junction City.
When: From this morning to this afternoon.
Impacts: At 21.0 feet, The north bank of the creek floods near the Highway 77 bridge.
Additional Details: - At 2:15 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 15.3 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage this morning to a crest of 21.5 feet this morning. It will then fall below flood stage this morning. - Flood stage is 21.0 feet.

Impacts: At 22.0 feet, Water spreads over north and south banks of the smoky hill river and lowlands near the river flood.
Additional Details: - There is no current observed data. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 23.1 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
