THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 248 IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MDT /8 PM PDT/ THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN IDAHO THIS WATCH INCLUDES 7 COUNTIES IN SOUTHWEST IDAHO ADA ADAMS CANYON GEM OWYHEE PAYETTE WASHINGTON IN OREGON THIS WATCH INCLUDES 3 COUNTIES IN NORTHEAST OREGON BAKER IN SOUTHEAST OREGON HARNEY MALHEUR THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BAKER, BEAR, BOISE, BRUNEAU, BUCHANAN, BURNS, CALDWELL, COUNCIL, CRANE, DIAMOND, DUNNEAN, EMMETT, FRUITLAND, FRUITVALE, GLENDALE, GOODRICH, HOMEDALE, HOT SPRING, INDIAN VALLEY, MALHEUR CITY, MESA, NAMPA, NEW PRINCETON, NYSSA, ONTARIO, PAYETTE, VENATOR, AND WEISER.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning

Description

At 438 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Fruitland to 6 miles southwest of Ola to near Pioneerville, moving north at 50 mph.
Hazard: 60 mph wind gusts.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. These severe storms will be near New Plymouth, Banks, Ola, and Garden Valley around 440 PM MDT. Smiths Ferry, Big Eddy, High Valley, and Hardscrabble Campground around 450 PM MDT.

Recommended Action

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
