Flash Flood Warning
The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Northwestern Clarke County in south central Iowa Southwestern Madison County in south central Iowa Northern Union County in south central Iowa Southern Adair County in southwestern Iowa Northern Adams County in southwestern Iowa Southeastern Cass County in southwestern Iowa Until 530 AM CDT Saturday. At 1123 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Creston, Greenfield, Green Valley Lake, Lake Icaria, Fontanelle, Orient, Lorimor, Massena, Cumberland, Bridgewater, East Peru, Macksburg, Cromwell, Green Valley Lake State Park, Nodaway Park, Greenfield Municipal Airport and Lake Icaria State Park.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. For the latest stream observations and forecasts refer to weather.gov/desmoines/water. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Severe Thunderstorm Warning
The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Cass County in southwestern Iowa Until midnight CDT. At 1053 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Griswold, or 14 miles north of Red Oak, moving east at 20 mph.
Hazard: 60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

Impact: Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Atlantic, Griswold, Lewis, Massena, Cumberland, Wiota, Griswold Park, Cold Springs State Park, and Atlantic Municipal Airport.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning
At 1107 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles southwest of Massena, or 12 miles north of Corning, moving east at 5 mph.
Hazard: Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

Impact: People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Lake Icaria, Prescott, and Lake Icaria State Park.
