At 658 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles northwest of Du Pont to near Quitman to 8 miles northwest of Monticello to near Havana. Movement was south at 15 mph.

Locations impacted include Tallahassee, Monticello, Tallahassee State College, Florida State University, Lakeland, Valdosta, Lake Park, Florida A and M, Quitman, Havana, Thomasville, Hahira, Boston, Doak Campbell Stadium, I-75 At Exit 16, Moody Air Force Base, Remerton, Meigs, Dasher, and Greenville.
