THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 378 IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN GEORGIA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 18 COUNTIES IN NORTH CENTRAL GEORGIA CHEROKEE DAWSON FANNIN GILMER LUMPKIN PICKENS UNION IN NORTHEAST GEORGIA TOWNS WHITE IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA BARTOW CATOOSA CHATTOOGA DADE FLOYD GORDON MURRAY WALKER WHITFIELD THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BLAIRSVILLE, BLUE RIDGE, CALHOUN, CARTERSVILLE, CHATSWORTH, CLEVELAND, COHUTTA WILDERNESS, COLWELL, DAHLONEGA, DALTON, DAWSONVILLE, DIAL, ELLIJAY, EPWORTH, FORT OGLETHORPE, HEMP, HIAWASSEE, HIGDON, JASPER, LAFAYETTE, ROME, SUMMERVILLE, TRENTON, AND WOODSTOCK.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning

Description

The storms which prompted the warning have weakened below severe limits, and no longer pose an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, gusty winds are still possible with these thunderstorms. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for north central, northeastern and northwestern Georgia.
