Description

What: Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
Where: Northeastern Clay County in northeastern Florida Duval County in northeastern Florida Central Nassau County in northeastern Florida Northern St. Johns County in northeastern Florida South Central Camden County in southeastern Georgia
When: Until 230 AM EDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Additional Details: - At 1212 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Jacksonville, St. Marys, Fernandina Beach, Green Cove Springs, Callahan, Arlington, Unf, Jacksonville International Arpt, Mandarin and Ponte Vedra Beach. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
