Description

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Flood Advisory for the following rivers in California Susan River At Susanville affecting Lassen County. For the Susan Riverincluding Susanvilleelevated river levels are forecast.
What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Susan River at Susanville.
When: Until early tomorrow afternoon.
Impacts: At 12.0 feet, Flood Stage. Local flooding in Susanville from Lassen Street downstream along Riverside Driveespecially below Piute Creek which enters river near Alexander Drive. Moderate lowland flooding below Susanville in Johnstonville Leavitt LakeStandish and Litchfield areas. Some rural roads affected by flooding. Flooding of Carol Street and Hwy 395 near Litchfield is possible if crest is higher than current forecast.
Additional Details: - At 9:00 AM PST Wednesday the stage was 10.7 feet. - ForecastThe river will rise above flood stage late this morning to 12.1 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage this afternoon to 9.2 feet tomorrow morning. It will rise tomorrow, but expected to remain below flood stage. - Action stage is 10.5 feet. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an alternative route. If you are in the advisory area, remain alert to possible flooding or the possibility of the advisory being upgraded to a warning. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.
