Description

At 1242 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Between 5 and 12 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Hazard: Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing flash flooding.

Impact: Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Elba, Enterprise, Fort Rucker, New Brockton, Lee, Woodland Grove Church, Camp Humming Hills, Richburg, Wise Mill, Arcus, Mixons Crossroads, Clintonville, Lowry Mill, Carl Folsom A/p, Tabernacle, New Haven, Turner Crossroads, Victoria, Camp Alaflo Bsa and Jack. Rain is in the process of tapering off. However, small streams, creeks and rivers will rise quickly early this morning as runoff makes its way downhill and downstream.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
