Freezing rain today

What: A prolonged period of freezing rain with ice pellets

When: until the end of the day

Where: Outaouais, Laurentians, Lanaudière, Greater Montreal, Montérégie and Eastern Townships

Additional information:
Freezing precipitation is expected to give 5 to 15 millimetres of ice accretion. In addition, strong southwesterly winds of up to 70 kilometres per hour are expected from the end of the day and until Tuesday.

For Montreal and Vaudreuil-Soulanges, stronger gusts of up to 90 kilometres per hour are expected at the end of the day.

Roads and walkways will likely become icy and slippery. Travel will likely be hazardous and some routes will likely be impassable. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic. Prolonged utility outages are likely.
