Description

What:
Localized heavy flurries with sudden reduction in visibility.

When:
Tonight to Friday afternoon

Where:
- North Coast
- Bulkley Valley
- Parts of Highway 16 and 37

Additional information:
An intense low pressure system over the Gulf of Alaska will bring a cold and unstable airmass into northern BC tonight into Friday. Bands of convective flurries will develop across the North Coast and the Bulkley Valley, with localized areas experiencing brief periods of significantly reduced visibility in heavier bursts.

Snowfall accumulation will be highly variable across these regions depending on where these bands of flurries develop and how long they remain stationary over an area.

Travellers should be prepared for rapidly changing and deteriorating conditions, and allow extra time for travel.
