Yellow Advisory - Blowing Snow

Issued at Mon 6:15 AM Apr. 13
Issued by: Environment and Climate Change Canada
Description

Poor visibility in snow and blowing snow is expected in some locations.

Where: Dempster Highway near the Richardson Mountains

When: This afternoon through Monday evening

Discussion:
An area of low pressure over the southern Yukon is leading to periods of flurries and strong easterly winds to portions of the Dempster Highway near the Richardson Mountains.

The combination of fresh snowfall and strong winds will reduce visibility at times, resulting in hazardous travel conditions.

Winds are expected to diminish later this evening with improving travel conditions thereafter.

###

Travel will likely be hazardous due to near-zero visibility.

Blowing snow advisories are issued when widespread poor visibility in blowing snow is expected.
