Description

A prolonged period of very cold wind chills is expected.

Wind chills near minus 55 continue.

Temperatures and wind chill values will moderate slightly in the afternoon but wind chills of minus 55 are expected in some communities again tonight.

Conditions will improve on Thursday when a slight warming trend moves through the area.

Recommended Action


Dress warmly. Dress in layers that you can remove if you get too warm. The outer layer should be wind resistant.

Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.

Outdoor workers should take regularly scheduled breaks to warm up.
