Special Weather Statement
Late-season, accumulating snowfall is expected over some areas.
Locations: western Newfoundland.
Total snowfall:
- less than 5 cm along the coast
- potentially 10 to 20 cm over elevated terrain, with locally higher amounts
Time span: tonight until Wednesday night.
Remarks: Precipitation will fall primarily as rain this evening, and then transition to snow over many areas tonight and persist through the day on Wednesday. Snow will accumulate steadily and significantly over higher terrain, while rain, or a mixture of snow and rain, is expected near the coast.
Snow accumulation may make travel slow or hazardous. Roads and walkways could become slippery and difficult to navigate.
Consider adjusting travel plans to avoid the most hazardous conditions. Motorists should be prepared for winter driving conditions, especially over higher elevations.
