Yellow Watch - Winter Storm
A winter storm is expected for Christmas Day into Boxing Day.
Location: Northern Peninsula East.
Time span: Thursday near noon until Friday morning.
Projected snowfall: 15 to 25 cm.
Projected maximum wind gusts: north to northwesterly between 80 and 110 km/h (Thursday night into Friday).
Blowing snow: likely widespread, especially Thursday night.
Remarks: The most severe conditions, including snow and blowing snow, are expected to occur Thursday night. Winds are expected to begin to ease by Friday morning. Travel disruptions are likely, so consider adjusting your plans to travel before or after the storm, if possible.
Additionally, another similar system may impact the same area from Friday night into Saturday. While there is moderate uncertainty regarding this system, the public is advised to monitor updated forecasts closely and consider this potential disruption when planning holiday travel.
