Severe Thunderstorm Warning

Description

At 239 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 9 miles northwest of Platte to near Corsica to near Delmont, moving northeast at 65 mph.
Hazard: 70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

Impact: Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include Stickney, Delmont, Aurora Center, Grass Ranch Colony, Parkston, White Lake, Plankinton, Mount Vernon, Ethan, Dimock, Mitchell, Loomis and Storla.

Recommended Action

Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from windows. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
