Locations: the Avalon and Bonavista Peninsulas.

Freezing rain duration: 8 to 18 hours.
Total freezing rain amounts: 5 to 15 mm, highest over elevated terrain.

Time span: tonight through Wednesday morning, except possibly Wednesday afternoon on the Bonavista Peninsula and parts of the northern Avalon.

Remarks: Freezing rain is expected to be most persistent over higher elevations, while precipitation will fall as rain along parts of the coast where temperatures are expected to be slightly milder.

Roads and walkways will likely become icy and slippery. Local utility outages are possible.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
