Overland Flow Flood

Description

Hydrologic Forecast Centre has increased the alert to an Overland Flood Warning due to significant rain forecast for western Manitoba. Rainfall amounts of 60-100 mm is possible for these areas between June 29 and July 2. Heavy rainfall over a short period may lead to high surface runoff and overland flooding.

Recommended Action

Be aware and exercise caution near waterways in the affected area. Do not attempt to cross fast flowing waters or waters of unknown depth. Avoid flooded areas. Follow all directions, and take necessary precautions to stay safe. Up-to-date information is available at www.gov.mb.ca/flooding and www.manitoba511.ca, or stay tuned to local media.
