Craving something salty? Dulse could be the snack you didn’t know you needed

Tuesday, August 2nd 2022, 3:52 pm - It's a purple plant picked from the ocean, used as a salty treat and even in gardens. The Weather Network's Nathan Coleman heads to the water's edge to learn more about 'dulse'.

Have you ever tried dulse? The red seaweed grows rampant along parts of Atlantic Canada's Bay of Fundy and Minas Basin.

In the Maritimes, it's picked from the seafloor, dried and eaten as a salty snack.

The Weather Network’s Nathan Coleman tracked down a man who's been picking dulse in Bramber, N.S., since childhood. He shows Nathan the ropes in the video above.
