Tuesday, October 1st 2019, 6:38 pm - The unexpected snow made for some spectacular photos.
Newlyweds Sean and Brittnay Tuohy were hoping fall leaves would serve as the backdrop to their recent outdoor wedding in Spokane, Washington, and the forecast appeared to be cooperating at least for a little while.
Up until a week before, the couple was expecting sunny skies and warm temperatures.
Then, on the big day, a full-blown, record-breaking snowstorm -- complete with high winds and ice -- hit the area.
The snow was so intense that every guest's car had to be pushed out of the snow, the couple told CNN.

The ceremony had to be moved indoors, but the couple memorialized the snow with some amazing shots.
"When the snow started falling, there were a lot of emotions," Brittany told CNN.
"As soon as we were about to take the photos, it got bad."
The couple only had a few minutes to rush outside to take the photos before the weather became too treacherous.
The system that hit Spokane also moved through Canada, with parts of the Prairies receiving nearly 100 cm of snow.
