Though there is some chance of thunderstorms in northern Alberta on Wednesday, any that do spark look to be non-severe.

The real show will be far to the east, with a widespread storm risk across Manitoba, a slice of Saskatchewan, and northwestern Ontario. Forecasters are eyeing the potential for the severe risk, including some supercell potential, to move in from Minnesota on Wednesday evening.

The storms of the past few days have not been friendly for farmers caught in cells with isolated heavy hail, but generally, the region has seen a fair bit of precipitation, and it's not quite done yet Wednesday, as the effects of a slow-moving low continue for one more day. Presently, the heaviest amounts are expected to straddle the Saskatchewan/Manitoba border.

It should be noted that rainfall amounts will be even higher in places where thunderstorms produce locally-heavy downpours.
