Rediscovering the magic of Peggy’s Cove

Candid Closeup is a weekly segment that features Canadians from coast to coast who love to share their weather. In this episode, The Weather Network's Kim MacDonald had the opportunity to speak with Nova Scotia photographer, Kelly George, on reconnecting with her roots.

One of the most recognizable landmarks in Canada is the Peggy’s Cove lighthouse. Every year thousands of tourists flock to Nova Scotia to get a glimpse of the iconic structure and watch the waves crash against the rocks.

In this episode of Candid Closeup, we are introduced to Kelly George, whose family has called the area home for generations. In fact, her grandma’s brother was born in the original lighthouse over 100 years ago.

During the pandemic, Kelly was able to reconnect with the beauty of her “Miss Peggy” and discover a passion for photography along the way.
