Tuesday, February 11th 2020, 11:48 am - Baghdad wakes up to snow for first time in more than a decade
Residents of Baghdad woke up to a rare snowfall on Tuesday morning (Feb. 11).
The white-blanket and snow-covered tree branches created a wintry scene in the capital of Iraq which is mostly mild in the winter season.
Snow is common in mountainous northern Iraq, but residents of the capital and surrounding areas rarely see the snowfall. In January 2008 the Middle Eastern city received snowfall, for the first time in about 100 years.
