WHY IS FEBRUARY 15 NATIONAL FLAG OF CANADA DAY?

On February 15, 1965, Canada's official flag was raised for the first time on Parliament Hill. National flag day was declared at the same time.

In 1921, King George V in 1921 declared Canada's national colours to be red and white. White is symbolic of France. The red is a nod towards England, but also towards the maple leaf, which turns red in the fall.
