WEDNESDAY-SATURDAY: NOTHING BUT SUN, HEAT AND HUMIDITY
Temperatures will start to sizzle in Ontario with plenty of sunshine, which will remain entrenched in the province through most of the weekend.
Daytime highs will hit the mid- to upper-20s across most of southern, central, eastern and parts of northern Ontario. Humidity will creep up as well, making it feel more like the low-30s in some areas.
Thursday will be even warmer, with more areas inching closer to the 30-degree mark, with some locales in the east, north and southwest hitting or exceeding that temperature.
On Friday, much of the south will be firmly locked in the heat, as daytime highs will hit 30°C in most locales, with some possibility reaching 33°C or 34°C. The humidity will make it feel more like the mid-30s across much of the southern half of the province.
However, while humidity will rise this week, it should remain at comfortable levels until the weekend.
"Extended period of sunshine and a warming trend through the middle of this week. This will give us gorgeous mid-summer weather for the final official days of spring," says Weather Network meteorologist Dr. Doug Gillham.
Some tips to keep in mind during the upcoming heat, humidity:
- Keep house ventilated or cooled
- Never leave children or pets in vehicle
- Stay out of the sun, minimal exercise
- Think of those more vulnerable
