PHOTOS: Potent storm dumps 20-30 cm of snow on eastern Ontario, Quebec
Eastern Ontario and Quebec were slammed by a potent system that brought 20 cm or more to many areas in both provinces, including parts of Montreal, with the higher-end totals exceeding 30 cm in eastern Quebec.
In Quebec, almost 50,000 customers were without power at the peak of the storm.
Meanwhile, as of Sunday morning, snowfall accumulations have been quite substantial in many municipalities in Quebec including Montreal, which received 15-25 cm.
Elsewhere across the province, Quebec City received 10-20 cm, Upper Gatineau has seen 15-25 cm, Gaspé has accumulated 20-30 cm, the Laurentians received 20-35 cm, Lanaudière got 25-35 cm and New Carlisle-Chandler has accumulated 20-30 cm.
On the roads, some collisions were reported among those who braved the conditions, and though the peak of the storm had largely passed by Saturday night, a healthy dose of snowfall continues in eastern Quebec Sunday before the storm departs the province.
