PHOTOS: A quick snowfall turns B.C. into a winter wonderland

Thursday, December 30th 2021, 11:03 am - A quick-hitting storm dropped a blanket of snow across southwestern B.C. overnight Wednesday into Thursday.

Winter certainly hasn’t missed British Columbia this year. Less than a week after a rare Christmas snowstorm plastered the Lower Mainland with a solid helping of snow, another brief storm slid down the B.C. coast and refreshed the region’s wintry blanket.

Snow began overnight Wednesday and lasted into early Thursday morning for the South Coast and Vancouver Island. Vancouver and Victoria got in on the action, as well, with cold temperatures keeping precipitation all-snow down to sea level. 5-15+ cm of snow fell across the region, with Vancouver Airport reporting low visibility for a time on Thursday morning.

Residents who got up early (or stayed up late!) took to social media to share their photos and videos of this latest snowfall. Check out some of these great shots, below.
