Ontario: Cloudy, spotty showers before mid-week warmth moves in

Monday, March 30th 2020, 8:29 pm - Cool, cloudy Tuesday in southern Ontario before warmer temperatures move in

Cloudy skies with spotty showers will linger into Tuesday before an improvement comes mid-week with a slight bump in temperatures. For now, southern Ontario will see suppressed daytime highs with many cities barely reaching 5°C, which is below seasonal for this time of year. See below for what's ahead for the week, as well as a return to active weather next weekend.

  • Potential for a weekend system

The good news is there will be a slight improvement in conditions and temperatures by mid-week. The sunshine will return Wednesday, with slightly above seasonal temperatures. Thursday and Friday will feature pleasant early spring weather with a mix of sun and clouds and temperatures remaining mild.

LOOK AHEAD: MOSTLY RAIN-FREE WEEKEND, MILD PATTERN BEYOND

While a few showers are possible Saturday night into early Sunday, most of the weekend will be rain-free. Beyond that, it looks like a mild pattern will take hold.

"A couple days ago it looked like next week would bring a cooler pattern to our region. However, it now looks like the chilly weather will remain across the Prairies. This should allow the mild pattern to continue to dominate our region next week," said Weather Network meteorologist Dr. Doug Gillham.
