Tour guide snaps magical selfie with friendly orcas
Captain Ryan Lawler was able to capture a magical moment while he was out fishing near Oceanside in North San Diego County.
Two Eastern Tropical Pacific orcas appeared to be feeling friendly towards the passengers on the boat and began diving beneath it and swimming around.

The footage shows the orcas swimming alongside the boat and Lawler's photo captures the moment that one of the orcas surfaced.
According to Newport Coastal Adventure, the orcas measured between 4 to 6 metres long.

Orcas can be recognized by their black-and-white colouring and are one of the world's most powerful predators.
They can weigh between 2,700 to 5,400 kilograms and can swim up to 45 kilometres per hour. Their large brain size contributes to the intelligence that allows them to use cunning hunting strategies.
In addition to their ability to out-smart their prey, orcas do not have any natural predators and often live long lifespan.
