IN PHOTOS: Wicked lightning, hail from overnight Ontario storms

Wednesday, June 3rd 2020, 9:03 am - Abundant lightning, torrential downpours and large hail were all in the skies from the overnight storms that wracked the southwest and parts of the GTA.

If you were jolted from sleep by thunder and lightning Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, you weren't alone.

Powerful storms rolled through the southwest and parts of the Greater Toronto Area overnight, making for a serious lightshow, with abundant thunder and lighting.

The storms also produced locally heavy downpours, with some localized flooding reported, as well as hail up to quarter-sized.

Below is a selection of how the storms played out on Twitter, as well as shots from The Weather Network's Storm Hunter, Mark Robinson.
