IN PHOTOS: Scary Alberta skies as powerful storms crackle to life

Saturday, June 13th 2020, 4:26 pm - Strong storms lingered overnight into Saturday morning, with still more forecast for the rest of the day.

Alberta has had a stormy experience in recent days, with the risk of severe thunderstorms spilling even into the weekend.

Severe thunderstorm watches and warnings were widespread once again Saturday afternoon, but even before the day's round got going, Friday night's spate of storms wasn't quite done with the province, lasting into the early morning hours to kick off the weekend.

The storms, which included supercells, were marked not only by scary-looking clouds, but also wicked lightning. Below is a selection of how they looked on social media.
